Only one Nora
Nora belongs on a wall—but she is no wallflower.
For centuries, women placed narrow baskets like this one near the hearth to hold the aromatic harvests of the seasons—bundled herbs, dried lavender, and rosemary cut from the kitchen garden. While the seasons changed what she held, the basket remained a constant, grounding presence in the home.
Brittany wove Nora from rattan reed, by hand, start to finish, to revive this quiet, practical tradition. Slim and upright,
Nora is sculptural enough to be displayed as art, yet possesses the quiet strength to hold a clutch of dried flowers or fresh branches cut from a spring garden. She is made to feel as if she has always been there, marking the passage of time with grace.
Her name is hers alone. It belongs to this specific weave and will never be given to another basket. Once Nora is adopted, her name retires into history.
