Boulder

20 ft - 1/4" Flat-oval Reed.
A dark blue-gray that captures the weight and permanence of coastal rock. Like the boulders that have stood against the tide for centuries, this grounding shade anchors any weaving project with quiet strength.

The Story

The Oregon coast, never just a place—it’s a palette of memory. Wind tangled through salt-scented hair as waves thundered and mist curled around the sea cliffs. On days like those, gray clouds rolled low over the horizon, darkening the sky and the ocean. 

Down along the tidepools, color came alive in small, surprising bursts. A tiny starfish, bright and eye-catching, clung to the side of a stone. Seaweed draped itself in loose ribbons across the sand, leaving behind patterns like calligraphy written by the tide. And when the waves pulled back, treasures were revealed: shells, sand dollars, and other sea offerings. 

The color palette is muted with an undertone of brightness and surprise in small pops of color.
