Only one Hazel
The bean pot basket is one of the most domestic forms in American basket-making history, shaped around the concepts of warmth and sustenance, and built for a home that takes its rhythms seriously.
Hazel carries that legacy of comfort into the modern home.
Brittany wove Hazel from rattan reed, by hand, start to finish. Round and full, she features a gentle outward curve that gives her a substantial presence. Her slender wire bail handle is a deliberate detail—a quiet touch that positions her somewhere between a working basket and a piece of sculpture.
She possesses the quiet strength to hold a thriving plant, a collection of yarn, or whatever a household needs held, doing so with the grace of a form that has been trusted for generations.
Hazel is the basket that makes a corner feel lived-in and intentional.
Her name is hers alone, belonging to this specific weave and this moment in the studio. Once Hazel is adopted, her name retires into history.
