The worms that produce this silk are domesticated and usually raised in greenhouses, where they feed solely on mulberry leaves. One of the unique benefits of Mulberry silk is its hypoallergenic nature. Mulberry silk contains a natural protein, sericin, that reduces the possibility of an allergic reaction.
